Vishal Verma

I am an Associate Lawyer at Foster & Company, practicing in corporate/commercial litigation, employment law, and insurance defense, in my hometown of Fredericton and throughout Atlantic Canada.

Before joining the firm, I served on the regulatory compliance team of a major oil and gas company, advising on corporate/commercial activities, regulatory enforcement, transactions, and compliance across diverse business units – including employment, construction, tax, finance, privacy, and customs/tariffs matters. Earlier, I articled with the in-house legal teams of a publicly traded energy utility holding company and its subsidiaries, navigating various commercial transactions, finance-related matters, and contract negotiation. During this time, I also seconded with the litigation team of a leading Halifax law firm, working on construction, insurance, and employment disputes. As a summer law student at a renewable energy firm, I assisted in commercial litigation matters and infrastructure projects.

I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of New Brunswick Faculty of Law, where I received the Harry Scott Scholarship for achievement in corporate law. Prior to law school, I completed a Bachelor of Science at Acadia University.

I am a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
