As a shareholder and senior lawyer at Foster & Company, my broad-based litigation practice includes insurance defense, commercial litigation, complex multi-party actions, product liability, medical and professional malpractice and personal injury cases throughout the Maritimes. I have appeared at a number of administrative tribunals and have represented clients at all levels of Court in New Brunswick, including most recently the Supreme Court of Canada.

After graduating from the University of New Brunswick with my Bachelor of Arts (1992) and Bachelor of Laws (1995), I was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 1996. Since then, I have completed the Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. I also attended the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business where I took courses offered by the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel Leadership Institute and have completed the Mediation Workshop through Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I am also certified in Legal Lean Sigma and Legal Project Management through the Legal Lean Sigma Institute in Chicago.

I am a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the York Sunbury Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute.  I am an elected member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, past President of the York Sunbury Law Society and past Chair of the Insurance Section of the Canadian Bar Association of New Brunswick. I am a member of the Board of Directors for the Chalmers Foundation. Currently, I am the New Brunswick Representative for the Canadian Defense Lawyers Association.

I instruct on Civil Litigation and Insurance at the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Bar Admission Course and, when able, also volunteer at the University of New Brunswick Law School’s Negotiations Course.

On a more personal note, I am actively involved with the War Amps of Canada, am a native of Fredericton, and very much enjoy spending time with my wife, Melissa, and daughter, Ella.
