I make key contributions to the standards and practices of law as an associate for Foster & Company with a focus on litigation, insurance claims, plaintiff and defence work for motor vehicle accident litigants and wills and estates.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with Spanish degree from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. This path led me to experience a year abroad at the Universidad de La Rioja in Logrono, Spain. After completing my undergraduate degree, I worked in various business-related positions in Germany, Australia, Chile, South-East Asia and numerous cities within Canada.
In 2014, I decided to complete my life-long dream of becoming a lawyer by attending law school at the University of Kent in Canterbury, England. While attending law school, I was the recipient of various awards for my volunteering achievement. I volunteered with the Kent Law Clinic’s legal advice sessions and soon became co-ordinator of the program. I was a team leader for the Criminal Justice Project within the Kent Law Clinic and was awarded the Criminal Justice Project Prize. Cases specifically included neighbour disputes; legal advice letters for prisoners with concerns of misconduct; drug offences; civil lawsuits containing criminal elements; and convincing the Crown to drop their case in a traffic violation.
After graduating with a law degree, I returned to Canada and started working at Foster & Company. I gained my experience and knowledge leading to my successful completion of the National Committee on Accreditation exams through the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.
In 2017, I articled with Foster & Company prior to joining the firm as an associate in 2018. In addition to building my own practice, I assist senior counsel in litigation involving contentious liability issues; catastrophic injuries; complex pecuniary damage claims. I also have wills and estate experience.
I am a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick and its Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Committee, the York-Sunbury Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and the New Brunswick Insurance Women’s Association.
In my spare time I enjoy playing touch rugby, softball, kayaking, traveling and spending time in the outdoors.
